Summary

This is an effort to examine the current state of affairs in the profession of therapeutic recreation. The book is divided into four sections (Introduction, Education Issues, Practice Issues, and Research Issues) within 24 chapters. Each section, except the first contains one 'keynote' chapter, which view the issues from a more personal, or alternate, perspective. Thirty-three highly respected professionals have collaborated to author these thought-provoking and timely essays. These chapters represent the most current thinking in the field and challenge the reader to seek greater involvement in the profession and to make a difference.
